Compression Wear
I’ve been running in compression socks for years now and I don’t care how stupid I look running in knee highs. The benefits outweigh the fashion for me and when I started wearing the socks, my calfs didn’t cramp anymore and my long runs became easier and easier to complete. For recovery, they work fantastic as well. It helps promote the blood flow through the muscles which in turn makes them recover faster.
Hands down, the best ones I’ve worn are CEP. CEP measures their compression based on calf size as opposed to foot size like everyone else. It can be a struggle getting them on and off but once you get them on, you can feel the compression going to work.
I’ve recently become a convert to compression shirts and tights. The Saucony AMP PRO line is great, the idea behind it is that it increases oxygen into the body to give you more energy. When you put the stuff on, it’s not nearly as tight as other brands I have tried on so I was skeptical at purchasing them. After wearing the tights after leg day in the gym, I noticed a quicker recovery time. Even after an excruciating leg day that I could barely walk out of the gym from, I was moving more comfortably the following few days where normally even with stretching and foam rolling I would be crippled for days. I liked the benefits of them so much, I bought a second pair of tights and a long sleeve to help my upper body recover faster.
There are many huge benefits of compression wear and thanks to socks, tights and tops I can work my ass off and come back even stronger the next day!

I am planning on investing in a good pair of compressions socks/sleeves next week! I know I need them, but on a college kid budget they are so expensive…
I hear ya, they aren’t cheap. I’ve got some Adidas sleeves that are less than 30 bucks that work great, maybe check them out!
